Getting there....

Right things are going better now with the wii fit challenge!
After half an hour of running again things have improved.
The BMI measured in at 26.16

This is certainly moving in the right direction.

Out of curiosity, if you have any comments on this case study it'd be great to hear them!

Is there anything you want to know or would like to see on a daily basis?

Let me know and I will see if I can accommodate them!

Plodding on...

I've been trying to keep consist ant now with the daily usage of the Wii Fit.
Last night I did another 40 minutes of jogging, some yoga and a couple of muscle work-outs.
The BMI went to 26.26

After the day before this is definitely going in the right direction now. We'll see what it is at after tonight's efforts. I know the weight has dropped to just under 14 stone which I am happy about. I'm still aiming for the 13 mark though.
As always I will keep you updated!

Slacker!

Well Saturday wasn't very fruitful on the old wii fit board. So, Sunday arrives, how sunny was it?! Woke up thinking I'd slept through 5 months!
Did half an hour jogging and a few balance games.

BMW came out as 26.10

Quite low considering I'd had a day off.

Just completed 40 minutes tonight on running, and a whole host of yoga/muscle work outs.
BMI measured in at 26.64

This was higher than I thought, but it does seem to be hovering around the same sort of mark. I guess it depends on what I've eaten.

Friday at last!

This week seems to of taken ages to come to an end. However Friday is here finally so on with the experiment.
I am feeling that the jogging exercises is having the best effect as it is the longest test and the most energetic. So another half hour of jogging it was.
Not much change BMI wise, still 26.10

Seeing as it is Saturday tomorrow I might up it to an hour on the board.

Day 4

Day 4 of the wii-fit case study and I've managed to unlock the "free run" jogging game.
This gives you a solid 10 minutes of running. So I did one long distance run and two free runs. In total half an hour of jogging. This is not what I am used to at all! However after the fist ten minutes it was OK. I'm sure over time it will be second nature.
The BMI result showed as 26.10
It's getting there, I think my body will be adjusting to the moderately healthy eating and the increase in exertion.

3rd Day

This isn't going great at the moment. A bad head ache meant I didn't really feel like doing anything tonight. So 50 sit-ups it was instead.
I will carry on with it tomorrow and post up the results.

...and we're off!

All the problems are sorted, so the test can finally start. The initial body test came out with a bmi of 26.22. The aim is to get it as close to 22.00 as possible. The wii fit isn't by any means a scientific unit so these are just estimated figures really. However they will give an indication.
The training exercises that I did were running, hula and the boxing. All aerobic exercises to hopefully burn fat. I did 30 minutes as planned.
The result was a bmi of 26.10.

1st day. Not a great start...

Well things didn't go according to plan for the first day. Electrical problems at home meant that I couldn't start the test. What I'll do is the first test tomorrow at the start, then do the training. Finally I'll do another test after that.

2 Days to go!

There are two days to go till the test starts.

The test as I said is by no means scientific.
I will use the balance board for half an hour a day (the recommended exercises amount)and just try to eat a little healthier. I will try to post the results both weight and BMI wise every day time depending.

Stay tuned!

The build up

Christmas is over once again. Many of you, as I have in the past, are thinking of shedding a few pounds to get back in shape after the festive period.

Last year saw the release of Wii-Fit. This was the flagship game that came bundled with the balance board, Nintendos new peripheral. Ultimately this is a glorified weighing scales. There are 4 sections to this board, and each corner houses a pressure sensitive sensor.

The game itself (Wii Fit) has 4 areas to utilise.

Aerobic - This concentrates on cardiovascular work outs. These are the ones that get the heart pumping and the fat burning, or that's the idea anyway!

Balance - These games are to focus on improving your balance and posture.

Yoga - Different poses to strengthen the body, improve circulation and posture.

Muscle - High impact exercises to help build/strengthen muscles.

Due to time constraints, finances and a whole host of other excuses that slip my mind at the moment, I am unwilling to join the gym.
So what better way to test the wii fit metal, but to carry out a case study.

Over the next 100 days I will test the wii fit work outs, as well as cutting back on the junk food to see what results can be gained.
This is by no means a scientific test, but it will give us a rough idea all being well.

The first day of the test will be Saturday 10th January 2009.
